National Innovation Council, government of India in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized
the “Decade of Innovation: India @ Year 1” on 16-17 November 2011 at New Delhi, wherein
Gujarat was a Partner State for the event.
The objective of the event was to provide a national platform to all major stakeholders of the innovation ecosystem in the country to share their experiences in innovation and showcase their recent innovations for use of business, industry and upliftment of
the society. The topics of discussion were to develop robust innovation ecosystem in the country through policy reforms, global and institutional linkages and entrepreneurship development initiatives.
Distinguished delegates from UK, Canada, Australia, and Sweden etc. joined this event. Almost 50 innovators
from across the country participated in the events.
Besides participation in the exhibition, the officials from Industries Commissionerate / iNDEXTb, government of Gujarat also took part in various discussions on innovation and policy reforms.
Distinguished guests, who have visited the stall of the government of Gujarat and interacted with the official
of government of Gujarat, included Mr. Sam Pitroda (Adviser to the Prime Minister on Innovation), Dr. Naushad Forbes (Chairman, CII Innovation Council), Prof. S.K. Bramhachari, (Director General, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (SCIR)), Prof.
Y.S. Rajan (Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Distinguished Professor at ISRO), Mr. Anjan Das (Executive Director - Technology, CII) and many others.
