Investments

Greenfield Ports

  • 5 MoUs worth Rs. 21,700 crore have been signed during Vibrant Gujarat 2009 - for development of new Greenfield Ports
  • Some of the major companies involved are: Port of Rotterdam- Poshitra,KPT - Kandla,Sapoorji Pallonji - Chhara.

Single Buoy Moorings Installation

  • Bharat Oman and Cairn Energy companies have signed two MOUs during Vibrant Gujarat 2009 for SBM worth Rs. 1,100 crore and Marine Infrastructure (which will be useful for fast evacuation of the crude and petroleum cargo) respectively

Capacity augmentation at existing Ports

Marine Tourism Projects

  • With a 1,600 Km long and clear coastline, Gujarat offers a variety of strategic and competitive advantages for developing marine tourism in the State – like Marinas, Flotels, Cruise Lines and Beach Tourism, Marine Parks etc.
  • Most of the areas under consideration for marine tourism projects are virgin areas that will ensure a high revenue and will be a source of employment for the locals
