Gujarat - The Oil & Gas Capital of India
 
The Oil and Gas sector is one of Gujarat’s most competitive and well established industries.
 
Gujarat is known as the Oil and Gas capital of India, with Bharuch, Surat, Jamnagar and Vadodara being the major centers
Ranks 1st in the production of Crude Oil (onshore-54.8%) and Natural Gas (onshore-35.5%) in India
The State has the highest number of oil & gas fields (onshore & offshore) in India (32.2%)
35% of India’s installed refining capacity is in the State of Gujarat, which is the highest in India
Gujarat is the only State in India having 2 LNG terminals (Dahej and Hazira)
Reliance Petroleum limited at Jamnagar (Gujarat) is the largest refinery in India and the biggest grassroot refinery in the world
India’s only State Government owned company in the Oil & Gas Exploration and Production business, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) is present
Gujarat is the only state in India with a state wide gas grid and multi gas suppliers.
Only state with an extensive transmission network, almost 1200 kms of gas grid is in operation and around 800 kms is under construction and an expansion of around 200 kms is planned
Established by Gujarat Gas Corporation Limited (GGCL), there are 80 CNG stations, present in Gujarat. Of these, 12 are under GSPC in 7 districts – Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Gandhinagar & Sabarkantha
